  • Forced non-intercourse sex acts such as oral copulation by force or fear or Penal Code 289 forcible penetration with a foreign object,
  • Violations of California “indecent exposure” law, and
  • Human trafficking for prostitution-related purposes or for child pornography purposes.

California judges may also require a criminal defendant to register as a sex offender if he or she is convicted of an offense that is not on that list—if the judge concludes he or she committed the crime as a result of sexual compulsion or for sexual gratification.
